Hey, folks. Capone in Chicago here.

I am not the person Disney wants reviewing A CHRISTMAS CAROL. See, for the past seven odd years, my father has been doing a one man show in Melbourne in which he portrays Charles Dickens reading "A Christmas Carol", in much the same manner Dickens did back in the day. It's become bigger each year, and if you think that watching someone recite a book at you can't be entertaining, you really need to come see it. But my point is that not only do I have a personal motive for disliking any competition, I now know the text inside out.

Hosting the IMAX 3D screening of A CHRISTMAS CAROL at our local IMAX last night was bittersweet. Sweet, because we were seeing A CHRISTMAS CAROL before its world premiere in Hollywood tonight... Bitter, because my sister, nephew and wife could not attend. That wasn't at all a distraction during the movie, it was just... as I was leaving the theater with Father Geek - I found myself missing my own larger family.

Hey everyone. Capone in Chicago here, with the list of winners for tickets to see the Chicago screening of A CHIRSTMAS CAROL in IMAX 3D on Monday, November 2 at 9:00pm at the Navy Pier IMAX, 700 East Grand Ave., Chicago.

Merrick here...
A new trailer for Robert Zemeckis' motion capture adaptation of A CHRISTMAS CAROL is online in many forms of various QuickTime over at Apple.
At times this feels a bit too much like Dickens by way of Looney Tunes, but I suppose it'll at least have impressive 3-D?

Hey folks, Harry here and this was a surprise today. I came back from my INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS screening to pack my bags, shower and get ready for my PAPER HEART screening - but fate had another plan. This is our Exclusive 1 on 1 interview with Robert Zemeckis - now - for the record, I don't enjoy the interview process, I'd rather "shoot the shit" - but when you have a brief amount of time, there's less room for that. I had almost zero prep time, but I think it came out pretty well.

Hey folks, Harry here, and if you've been reading my twitter - you'd know I was seeing some of Robert Zemeckis' A CHRISTMAS CAROL this morning. It was being shown to me at the Alamo Village in their new Digital 4K 3D setup and dear lord was it a striking presentation.
It was just Quint, Father Geek & myself sitting there with the everpresent Andrew of Disney - but I was sitting 2nd row center - to get the most out of the 3D - and WOW.

Since its publication in 1843, Charles Dickens's A CHRISTMAS CAROL has been retold and reconfigured more times than perhaps any other story in the history of the English language. It's been performed as a play and a musical. It's been filmed. It's been animated. It's been spoofed. It's been Muppet-ized, Murray-fied and McConaughey-ed. It's been done.

Hey folks, Harry here... Robert Zemeckis' A CHRISTMAS CAROL just got very interesting to me. That bit of footage that was shown the other day... didn't quite capture my imagination, but here... with the video linked below, I'm in. I love Zemeckis' claim that this is the greatest Time Travel story ever written. I like the look of the characters and world. I think they're doing an interesting job. What do you think?

Hey folks, Harry here... Latino Review has landed the first footage I've seen from Robert Zemeckis' A CHRISTMAS CAROL - and I'm not real sure what to think of it. The motion seems a bit herky jerky, and while the scene seems to want to give off atmosphere and creeps, it doesn't.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with my first report of the convention. For starters, I must apologize for not having any coverage of the Sherlock Holmes footage for you. I skipped the 9:15 panel this morning, but I did so because nothing was listed in the program as happening and I hadn’t heard anything in advance.

Hey folks, Harry here... Just got sent this blurry, not quite sharp image of the A CHRISTMAS CAROL poster, which is the next big Motion Capture project from the world of Robert Zemeckis. And the poster gives me the distinct good vibe that Zemeckis has decided to do away with the Photo Real look, and to instead go for beautifully designed characters - which is what he should be doing. I love the look of Scrooge there, don't you? Well... best as you can tell?

Hey, everyone. ”Moriarty” here.
Stephen Clark’s the guy who runs the very, very good BACK TO THE FUTURE fansite, and he’s definitely always out there looking for BACK TO THE FUTURE-related news.
I haven’t seen any of BEOWULF yet, but everyone who has seems excited by it, and I’ll admit... I like the notion of him doing his take on this particular oft-told tale. Zemeckis is sort of doing what Walt Disney did in the early days of his studio... telling stories people know, but telling them in a brand-new way. I like the notion of Jim Carrey playing Scrooge and the three Christmas Ghosts, since mo-cap lets him play these scenes opposite himself, seamlessly interacting. It makes thematic sense for one actor to play all four roles, in my opinion, but I don’t know if anyone else has ever done that when performing A CHRISTMAS CAROL.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Boy, these two dudes love Christmas. Robert Zemeckis' POLAR EXPRESS gets play every Christmas season now thanks to IMAX 3-D and Carrey was The Grinch for Ron Howard.
I guess he has to take on the other iconic Christmas-time villain.
Zemeckis has written and will direct an adaptation of A CHRISTMAS CAROL with Jim Carrey in line to star as Scrooge as well as the ghosts of Christmas' Past, Present and Future. Disney is footing the bill. Zemeckis is planning to mix live action with performance capture animation.
