Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with what will be my final bit of ShoWest coverage, filling you in on what I saw and did today, the last day of the convention. Specifically, the awards ceremony where they showed some footage from upcoming films.

Quint has seen the first footage from Neill Blomkamp's DISTRICT 9 at ShoWest!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here fresh from the Sony panel where they didn’t prance out any guests, but gave us a good half an hour show reel of their summer slate.

I have to start with the biggie of the presentation: DISTRICT 9, directed by Neill Blomkamp and produced by Peter Jackson… the director/producer team that should have been making a HALO movie.

A few minutes of GI JOE was screened at ShoWest and Quint wasn't impressed

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a little update before I catch the 5 ½ hours I get before tomorrow’s Sony presentation. Before the screening of The Soloist today Paramount gave us what appeared to be an extended trailer for GI JOE.

Quint at ShoWest! Disney! TOY STORY 1, 2, 3, BEAUTY & THE BEAST in 3-D, Alice In Wonderland, Christmas Carol, Tron 2 and more!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with my first report of the convention. For starters, I must apologize for not having any coverage of the Sherlock Holmes footage for you. I skipped the 9:15 panel this morning, but I did so because nothing was listed in the program as happening and I hadn’t heard anything in advance.

Quint might need some help from lady luck at ShoWest in Vegas!!!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Looks like I'm shooting off to Vegas again this year for ShoWest. I went last year... And I have to say... I had always heard of ShoWest growing up and it was a dream of mine to go. I was very underwhelmed last year.

I wasn't able to cover everything I wanted to because the press badge doesn't get you very far unless you have a "Passport" with it. They call it a passport because they stamp it when you enter certain booths or pick up certain goodie bags. I have enough junk. I could give a crap about the freebies, but I did miss some presentations and newsworthy booths last year because I didn't have one.
