left me cold, though I really wanted to be excited about it. I'm really just posting in the hopes of preventing somebody else from using the 'f' word...

"The English dub cast for Howl's Moving Castle will feature Christian Bale as Howl..." --little bit of equilibrium (dyswidt) in the casting, as both the character and the voice actor are Welsh. Doubt that has translated from book to screen, though. Still looking forward to this despite mixed reviews.

...Very little is left from book to screen. A dissapointment? yup. A bad film...no. Miyazakis worst film? tricky...but close.

...is, I'm guessing, still better than most very good films. Maybe I'm wrong. I will be visiting my local cineplex with real cash to see for myself.

Now while I'm usually all for unedited imports I can't believe people are whining over lost RAPE SCENES! Okay, I don't care much for the sex scenes and the only reason anyone is whining over the loss is because they're a buncha losers and can't afford real porn so they're dumb enough to jerk off to cartoon boobies. But te RAPE SCENES? Oh yeah, real loss there. What kinda sick fuck moans about that? "I just can't live unless I see women brutalized, tortured and humiliated!" Wonderful, just fucking wonderful.

...Yeah Howls still is better than most good films....Its also a film that you have to see on the largest screen you can find. However its still a dissapointment to me and a bit of a mess (80% brilliance 20% bollocks) that although looks utterly fantastic, its the recycling stuff from his past two films that really has no point in being there that lets things down somewhat. ...Im hoping his next will be a lot different... Nobodys perfect though...including miyazaki. And Howls moving castle..to me is miyazaki at his most flawed. But yep...better than most good films....

I saw this film in theaters w/the subtitles in a local Art Theater. It was amazing, felt like someone was doing old school anime again. Story had its issues, plot problems or handling. However it was a good anime. Not everything has to be slapstick. Nice take on Pup fiction, specially during the credits. I stuck with strickly the subtitle showing. I'm glad i did.
Isn't Christian Bale in ENOUGH movies this year?

I would've gone with Jonathan Rhys-Meyers as Howl...that's just me. Prolly because I am getting so sick of having to wait for production on "The Last Unicorn" to begin.
Happy.

FINALLY G4 gets a braincell to work and will air the second half of the "R.O.D. the TV" series. About bloody time too. They cut it at a cliffhanger. A definite No-No.
