Hey folks, Harry here... I don't know about you, but I'm right there with Protozoid (writer below) with a sense of giddy prayer that it is happening. The idea of Malick bringing one of the most legendary (and mysterious) poems of the English language to life... well, that it is a poem and that Malick is nothing if not a cinematic poet... Consider AICN officially on the case now. And we're praying it comes to be.

Now, King Arthur was the very first story I ever heard. It shaped my psyche in a way Star Wars and Tolkien can never approach. Considering that Terrence Malick has arguably the highest batting average in the history of cinema, this rumor makes me very, very happy.

Jack Fisk says in a new radio interview (Click Here To Experience) that he was scouting a completely different film with Terrence Malick circa 2002 -- before THE NEW WORLD. This project, he says, will "probaby" be their next collaboration.

With a little bit of research, The Independent, March 23, 2002, in an article about Jim Caviezel, says:

"Caviezel's old friend Malick (also a Catholic) is apparently planning to make a film of the Middle English poem, Gawain and the Green Knight. Gawain is a proud and virtuous knight tempted three times by a beautiful lady, the Green Knight an emissary from God who ultimately exposes the chinks in his armour. Caviezel may well have talked himself out of a job by the time Malick gets round to casting, but he'd make a perfect Gawain. He's so determined to be a saint, but what he always sounds is human."

Hopefully it'll be in cinemas before 2015.

Isn't Malick doing his post for THE TREE OF LIFE in Austin? Somebody needs to capture one of Malick's ninjas and squeeze him for details.
